2016 Bromley Nebbiolo
Tasting Notes
Vibrant, luminous deep cherry
Incredibly perfumed exhibiting hints of violet, black cherry, spice and anise.
As with so many Nebbiolo’s this wine has a slow build. Initially in the mouth it tastes of cherry, rose petal, spice and fennel then as the wine is rolled around the mouth the weight and structure evolve declaring some balanced acidity and evident fine savoury tannins.
A delight to drink now and into the next 5 years.

Winemaking
The Nebbiolo fruit for this wine was sourced from the Camelback Vineyard in Heathcote.
Hand harvest of the fruit occurred in mid March. It was refrigerated overnight in Heathcote then delivered to the Geelong winery the following morning
The fruit was 90% destemmed to a combination of fermenters. Fermentation was completed by ambient yeast and some known wine yeasts. Temperature of must was maintained under 28.0 degrees to retain aromatics. Following completion of primary ferment the wine remained on skins for a further 20 days – making a total of 35 days on skins. Wine was then pressed to old French Hogsheads to complete natural malolactic fermentation.
Elevage of 10 months in oak after which the wine was captured at its vibrant best and bottled following filtration, no fining was required.
