2017 Bromley Riesling
Tasting Notes
Crystalline with flecks of green
Vibrant and fragrant, aromatically bursting from the glass.
Intense green apple, lime and white flowers tickle the olfactory!
In the mouth citrus and apple are the themes – with some unripe stone fruit contributing. Beautiful line and balance with cleansing, crunchy acidity supported by some delicate tannins. In sync now but will develop beautifully over the next decade.
Winemaking
The Riesling fruit for this wine was sourced from the Alan Blyton’s Bellarine Peninsula vineyard.
Hand harvest of the fruit occurred on the 14th March. It was refrigerated overnight then whole bunch pressed. Once 55% yield of juice had been achieved press was evacuated. Juice was cold settled then cleanly racked for fermentation utilising a neutral wine yeast.
A cold ferment ensued with temperatures ranging between 10 – 15 degrees to optimise aromatics and purity of fruit.
Following 4 months on ferment lees the wine was racked, stabilsed and filtered prior to bottling
